Assalamu alaikum. Please note the following reopening plan for Islamic Center of Riverside. Be sure to pay close attention to safety instruction before you arrive. One of the essential Dua, we should repeat in our life is (O my Lord! make me one who perform prayers and from my offspring, our Lord! and accept my invocations – Dua’) (Quran: 14, S:40) أخبرنا الله تعالى عن دعوة إبراهيم عليه السلام، فقال سبحانه: : " رب إجعلني مقيم الصلاة ومن ذريتي ربنا وتقبل دعاء" إباهيم آية 40 This Dua to Allah Taala is help us establish the prayers in our lives and for the prayers to be a distinguishing action for our progeny after us is a unique and very important. Prayer (Salah) is the real connection between us and Allah Taala on a regular and formal way. Therefore, we, at ICR management, boards, and community are eager to re-open our center. So, we can collectively worship Allah and make the Dua’ and continue our mission in our society. We have applied for permission to re-open, we have prepared the place for worship, and we will keep all regulations and rules in mind when we come over to the Masjid. Insha-Allah. We ask for your cooperation by doing the following: 1. Please stay home if you are sick and not feeling well. 2. Please come ready for Salah (with Wudo) ten minutes before Iqamah 3. ELECTION 2020 BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES

August 20, 2020 Assalamu alaikum All: Islamic Center of Riverside (ICR) Bylaws require that Voting Members elect seven officers for the Board of Directors, including a sister and a youth (BOD) and five officers for the Board of Trustees (BOT). Due to Covid-19 issues, Election committee (EC) sent nomination ballots via emails on June 20, 2020. Voting Members had thirty days to send their nominations (by July 20, 2020). On July 21, 2020, EC prepared and emailed to Voting Members a preliminary list of nominees. All nominees were later vetted and a final list of nominees for BOD & BOT was emailed on August 10, 2020. Now, since the number of final nominees were the same as the number of available positions for both BOD and BOT, EC on the advice of current BOT, has concluded that there is no need to cast ballots. As such all your nominees are elected unopposed and are therefore declared elected officers (see attached notification). We appreciate your participation and cooperation during the whole process. JazākAllāhu Khayran. Authorities are calling the explosion an accident pending further investigation. The blast caused more than 135 deaths and 5,000 injuries. Thousands have been displaced as damage and destruction to buildings was widespread. The Lebanese government has declared a two-week state of emergency after two huge explosions Beirut’s governor, Marwan Abboud, has said the damage from the port blast has extended over half of the city, with the cost of damage likely above $3bn. Rescuers continue to search for victims who remain trapped under rubble. Hospitals, several of which were damaged in the blast, have been inundated with patients. In the Gemmayze district, medical teams were forced to triage patients in a car park, while the Red Cross said it is coordinating with the Lebanese health ministry to set up morgues. The Islamic Center of Riverside board of directors, the board of trustee and staff prays for the speedy recovery of the injured, solace for the departed and the comfort for the first responders.
