From the desk of Imam/Director: Mahmoud Harmoush Dear brothers and sisters: Assalamu Aalaikum Warahmatu Allah. قال الله تعالى : (الذين إذا أصابتهم مصيبةقالوا إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون الئك عليهم صلوات من ربهم ورحمه-والئك هم المهتدون) البقرة-156-157 Allah (SWT) said: (For those who are hit with a calamity, they will say we belong to Allah and to Him we returned, they will have the peace and mercy of Allah) (Al-Baqarah 156-157). Dear brothers and sisters: Last week brought to us sad news of the departures of few people in our community. It is heartbreaking to know that Hajj: (Abu Baker, Mohamad Ahmad), who used to be very active in the early days of the Islamic Center of Riverside, has passed away. We would like to offer our sincere condolences to his family and friends including to his wife Umm Ahmed, son Ahmed, and his daughters, Sarah, Somaia, Nanice, and his in-laws, Omar Zaki and Mohamad Ashraf. The funeral services (Salatu Al-Jannazah) will be at Montecito Memorial Park at 3520 E. Washington St. Colton, CA 92324 on Tuesday, 12/29/2020 at 12:30 PM. Also, we have lost our dear brother Hajj Magid Noureldin, the director of Masjid Al-Rahma and the Food Bank in Moreno Valley. He was a dear friend of mine and well known in the community. The funeral services (salatu-Al-Jannazah) for him will be on Wednesday, 12/30/2020 at 9:00 AM at the Corona Cemetery located at 1125 Rimpau Avenue, Corona CA 92879. While attending these services please follow all regulations and health requirements including wearing masks, maintaining social distance and making the visit short. Additionally, we lost a sister (Umm Ibrahim Surdari) who use to come to ICR with her daughter sister Eman for the Center’s activities. She was buried at the Corona symmetry last week.
